Since 2015, Initium has specialized in organizing watchmaking initiation workshops<\/a> and mechanical watchmaking<\/a> creation. Today, we are taking on a new challenge<\/b> – and unlike our last, such as the watchmaking kit<\/a> launched in 2021, this one ventures out of the watchmaking field!<\/b><\/p>\n

After months of iteration, development and investment, we are bringing to fruition a major project under the sign of craftsmanship and experience:<\/b><\/p>\n

The establishment of a jewelry workshop<\/b> that results in a unique, high-quality, and personalized piece of jewelry created by your own hands.<\/b><\/p>\n

The origins of the project: why jewelry?<\/h2>\n

After Initium Watches and its numerous variations of the watchmaking experience<\/b>, the company aimed to expand into a new sector: jewelry<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Jewelry is an ancestral art just like watchmaking, with which it shares many synergies.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On the one hand, its differences represent an opportunity – diversification of activities means new growth possibilities,<\/b> including expanding targets and leveraging our skills, technologies, and resources. We will discuss the financial and strategic aspects in a future newsletter.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, jewelry-making, like watchmaking, is an exciting traditional art, allowing the same range of experiences that Initium holds dear.<\/b><\/p>\n

Who is Fawn, the project manager?<\/h2>\n

Fawn Moreau has been a project manager<\/b> at Initium for over a year. With a double master’s degree in business and luxury design from Paris, she has always been passionate about drawing, jewelry-making, writing, and the arts in general.<\/p>\n

With her creative and curious spirit, she has been developing the Initium Jewelry concept since February 2022 in terms of design, budget, feasibility, and positioning.<\/p>\n

Where will the workshop be held?<\/h2>\n

Initially, the jewelry-making workshops can be attended in our Geneva<\/b> venue, located just above our current watchmaking space, in the heart of the old town.<\/p>\n

On the one hand, this allows us to consolidate our activities in the same geographical location,<\/b> greatly optimizing the organization and distribution of resources.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, it has symbolic significance: Geneva is a city steeped in history, counted among the artistic capitals of the twentieth century<\/b> for ornamentation, watchmaking, and jewelry-making. How does the Jewelry Workshop work?<\/h2>\n

The jewelry-making workshop will take place over half a day<\/b> – the schedule may vary depending on the complexity of the chosen piece of jewelry – alongside a jewelry expert<\/b> and in a group of up to five participants per jeweler (we can also accommodate larger groups).<\/b><\/p>\n

After receiving the necessary explanations on how to use the tools<\/b> and basic postures, the participant will be asked to define the aesthetic of their jewelry.<\/b> Whether it’s a ring or a bracelet, there are multiple customization possibilities to create a unique piece of jewelry that reflects their personality.<\/b><\/p>\n

Once the design is chosen, it’s time to learn<\/b> about the fascinating world of jewelry-making.
